M.A. Program Learning Outcomes:

(1) Articulate basic concepts in biblical, historical, and systematic theology and
theological ethics.
(2) Utilize appropriate data and methods in theological argumentation and
writing.
(3) Comprehend theological sources in at least one modern foreign language.

Course-specific Student-Learning Outcomes:
(1) Familiarity with one major approach (Lonergan-Doran) to the interrelations of
various disciplines in theology (the methodological system) and to the strictly systematic
component in that overall scheme (the theological system).
(2) Familiarity with other approaches to the same questions, as determined by the
individual interests of the students in the course.
(3) Familiarity with the objectives of the MA comprehensive exam in systematic
theology; these will be woven into the lectures and discussions at appropriate points.
